Jehovah’s Witnesses are a Christian religious denomination strongly opposed to war, and the Nazi regime targeted Jehovah’s Witnesses for refusing to serve in the German military or make displays of loyalty to the Nazi state. Thousands were detained in concentration camps for refusing to comply with the regime, and hundreds were executed.
