Forced sterilizations—medical procedures designed to make it biologically impossible to reproduce—were among the first measures the Nazi regime used to promote Nazi theories of eugenics and control human reproduction. Nazi officials and German medical professionals targeted people diagnosed with disabilities as well as Roma and Sinti and those deemed to be "asocial."
